… somehow what seems unachievable, becomes achievable …
“Pilates has been a wonderful escape from my busy lifestyle. I appreciate and have really enjoyed my sessions which have been motivating, energetic and fun! I’ve been introduced to a wide variety of challenging and interesting exercises that are tailored to my specific requirements. Kate uses varied equipment in her Studio making for a much more dynamic and fun workout; she ensures that you are working hard to make the most of your session. The time there flies by and her Studio feels like a little oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle.
Over the months I have noticed a huge difference in my core strength and posture and couldn’t recommend Kate more highly as an instructor. From breathing techniques and muscle toning to overall flexibility and relaxation, my Pilates sessions have become something of a weekly necessity that keeps me fit, happy and energised.
Pilates with Kate has been absolutely fabulous! She is always happy and friendly. She’s perceptive, understands anatomy and is a professional, inspirational and excellent teacher! I really couldn’t imagine my life without Pilates now as it’s made that much of a difference to my overall fitness and wellbeing. I feel so fortunate to have found Fitskool!”

“Where do I start? Body awareness, toning, strength, control of back pain, control of hip and other joint pain and maintenance of movement of those joints, a chance to relax after stressful days at work.
I have enjoyed most, the challenge to do more and hurt less! and the camaraderie and humour of the other people at the session, and Kate. The fact that I know I’m keeping mobile longer and preventing seizing up too soon!”

“Benefits: less back pain, better mobility, and better quality of sleep. Definite results in a short space of time which means I am more self-motivated to exercise at home. I have enjoyed the variety of exercises, particularly the equipment and the calming, tranquil atmosphere and encouragement from Kate.”

“The sessions are always varied and fun, I never feel like I am at the gym, I actively look forward to going to Fitskool. I like how each session I surprise myself with my own capabilities as Kate believes in what you are able to do and supports you unconditionally in pushing yourself. I feel tired and energised at the same time – brilliant!”

“I have had lower back problems for a few years and more recently had an injury to my shoulder and the Pilates sessions have helped a huge amount to relieve these problems and increase my mobility. It is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with clear instruction and support when I find moves difficult. Love the new location!”

“Since joining Kate’s Pilates group I’ve felt so much more toned. Prior to attending I had constant tension in my upper back and shoulders. With Kate’s help, I have learnt to improve my posture and feel more supple. The class is conducted at a good pace each week and is made more challenging with the introduction of the bands, balls and rollers.”

“It’s great to stretch out all your aching muscles and joints, I get a lot of back ache and in my shoulder blades and Pilates helps a lot. It’s not just a stretching class though, it’s actually pretty challenging sometimes too! I have now found a Pilates class I enjoy, as I went to a few others first…Kate is brilliant.”

“Thank you Kate for helping me to grow in strength – in my body, in confidence as a person….You helped me find my inner person again and connect with each part of my body with the Pilates exercises. Kate – the best and kindest teacher; with extensive knowledge of the best exercise for each person, coupled with the correct medical knowledge. Thank you,”

“I have noticed an improvement in muscle tone. I have lost a bit of weight and generally feel more toned. I think my upper body strength has improved.
I actually think I am generally more cheerful because I know how to control my weight now.
I always enjoy the sessions and really look forward to them. I would really miss them now if I could not attend and will miss the Thurs class over the 2 week break – ie the one prior to Bank holiday weekend and the one the following week. I will need to try and practice at home.
The small groups – I feel that bad habits/bad posture are being noticed and corrected immediately.
Each week there is a slight difference to the training in the class – therefore, I never get bored as is possible in classes when the same thing happens each week.
Kate manages to keep it fresh and different each week. The classes are fun and Kate is so encouraging and motivating.
The Tabata training is REALLY effective and somehow what seems unachievable, becomes achievable. I think this is because the short bursts of intense exercise are not too long and then you know can have a short rest. The class just whizzes by. I do really feel this training has made a difference to my shape – certainly my arms seem more toned.
Another thing about the benefit of the small groups is that each class participant just has to communicate with each other and there is a friendly atmosphere.”

“In the New Year I decided that I wanted to get fit and lose weight but I didn’t really want to join a gym. When I heard about Nordic Walking I thought it sounded like a brilliant idea, just what I was looking for. After doing the taster session, I knew straight away that I was going to take it up and soon after bought my own poles.
I have been regularly Nordic Walking for over six months now, rain or shine, although obviously shine is preferable!
About two months ago, Kate suggested that we all got pedometers. I liked the idea and as soon as I got my pedometer I found that it really gave me the extra motivation to achieve a minimum number of steps. I started with 10,000 then stepped it up to 12,000 and now aim for 15,000. I am walking to work 3 – 4 times a week which really helps to get in the steps.
I have found that my lifestyle has changed quite a lot, with exercise going from my last priority to my first, I don’t really want to sit down if I haven’t got my steps in!
I do have days of course, where the last thing I feel like is walking; that is when Nordic Walking in a group really helps to keep up my motivation. And all led by a fun, motivating instructor, thank you Kate!”

“Kettle bell classes: I’m absolutely hooked; it’s fun, enjoyable and friendly. You can really feel and see it working. My body shape has changed and I’ve lost inches and my strengh and cardio have improved so much. This is the only class where I can work to my maximum and smile the whole way through :-) love it!
Nordic Walking: – a fun and great way to exercise without putting pressure on your joints, but you get a full body workout with cardio too. The sport Nordic training is fantastic fun. I love Nordic walking as it’s a gentle whole body workout and you get to meet lovely people and make lots of new friends”

“Dear Kate, As I am off back to Spain for the winter at the end of the month I thought I would write to tell all the ladies who might be thinking themselves too old to exercise that it is the greatest thing in the world and whilst you can breathe you can exercise.
I do a Zumba class and a Kettles class both of which I love. Come on girls. I am 65, you are never too old.!”

“Annie is great! Enthusiastic and encouraging, she makes you smile. I hate exercise, but this is the only class I have ever been to where I put the effort in to come back every week, and it’s all due to Annie!”

“Hi Kate, Just to say thank you for yet another great walk. I never thought I would be setting my alarm clock at the weekend so that I could go Nordic walking. Nordic walking is not only good for the body but good for the spirit. I always feel great after a Nordic walk. I couldn’t ask for a better instructor!!!
See you Saturday for another walk.”
Pippa Chesterfield, Nordic Walking & Kettles, now a walk leader!
“Pilates Classes have worked brilliantly for me. I’ve gained strength and flexibility and my posture has improved dramatically. I always leave the class feeling so much better than when I arrived.
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so some days I’m better than others, but Kate is so adaptable and programmes the exercises to suit me. She’s very supportive and great at getting you motivated.”
Val Grace Pilates, Nordic Walking & Personal training
“Having had major surgery before Christmas, I decided to “have a go” at Nordic and I can honestly say that it has been truly life-enhancing!
Nordic walking provides whole-body exercise and with the core toning involved, it is brilliant for re-educating surgery-weakened abdominal muscles as well as boosting circulation. Nordic makes me walk faster and use my upper body more effectively. The icing on this particular cake has been Kate’s encouragement and her care to see that I do not overdo things, which comes from her medical understanding and experience, thus inspiring confidence. I am hooked!”
Liz Vicary, Nordic Walking
“I am thoroughly enjoying kettle bells; I feel energised after the class and motivated to go as it is so much fun! Who would know that a little kettle bell would be so beneficial. Every week I feel I develop further, it can be by learning a new swing, using a bigger bell or just feeling more flexible.
I really enjoy the classes as the routines change every week to target all muscles, and the best bit is that you can see and feel your body toning. I will definitely feel confident in my bikini this year!”
