We have plenty of experience and training in helping people with their backs! We believe we have the most unique and effective skill set available in the area to help you to begin your back pain recovery.

Kate is a level 4 back pain exercise specialist and has nursed countless hospital patients pre and post back surgery and was trained in specialist pain management techniques.

Kate and Vicki have both undertaken extra professional Pilates courses with the APPI to look after people following spinal discectomy & decompression, laminectomy or fusion.  Kate has completed her Foundation Training instructor course in America.

Once you have clearance from your consultant or doctor, we have a progressive six week Pilates recovery programme available for you here in North Baddesley.

We also offer a private comprehensive pre-hab’ programme for non specific back pain utilising exercises from the Foundation Training programme.

If you have osteoporosis or another bone or joint condition, you can still attend one of our special sessions. Please contact us to discuss your goals and concerns.

Pregnancy and birth offer us plenty of challenges, both in body and mind! Modified Pilates is low impact and perfect for keeping your core, pelvic floor and back strong and healthy.

Modified Pilates is ideal for maintaining strength and stamina and for helping the body back to normal after birth.

We are qualified to teach you ante and post natal exercise and offer private appointments before and after babys’ birth. Generally, you can commence Pilates after the first trimester and up until the birth.

If you are expereinced in exercise like Pilates or fitness and you are well with no complications, you can usually continue from the start of your pregnancy, however it’s best to get clearance from your midwife or doctor just to be sure. Please do contact us to discuss and book.

PILATES AND FOUNDATION TRAINING FOR POST OP’ BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS

The pink ribbon program was designed specifically for people following breast cancer treatment.

Kate was taught the programme in 2012 by founder Doreen Pugsli who is an exercise physiologist and breast cancer survivor herself.

This Pilates based programme consists of a private initial assessment, and a six week progressive plan of hourly classes.

You can attend as a private client or get together with a semi-private group of four.

The goal is to achieve maximum range of motion and hence quality of life to the affected person. This can be achieved whether your surgery was years ago or just six weeks ago!

We have also witnessed great benefits from teaching specific Foundation Training exercise to our post breast cancer patients.

Of course you don’t want to be a ‘patient’ forever, so following the course, we hope to give you the confidence to take up and enjoy a safe and regular movement routine.
